Anatomy Of Greed Audio Book
One of the famous books that is now available as a fully downloadable digital True Crime Audiobook is “Anatomy Of Greed”. This is the book authored by Brian Cruver, in which the story is told of the fall from grace of the Texan company Enron, at one time considered America's most innovative company. In fact, Enron won awards for being just that, for an incredible seven years in a row from Fortune magazine.
Back around the start of the twenty first century, Enron was probably the most prestigious place in Texas to work, especially for young graduates in search of wealth, security, and prestige.
It had all started back in 1985 with the merger of pipeline companies. When the new CEO, Ken Law, hired Jeffrey Skilling, he hired someone with a vision of using the core business, pipelines, as a front for a trading company that was really a kind of stock exchange. This was possible due to the incredible sophistication of the computers and computer software that the company and its leaders had at their disposal. The were able to set up a system that could trade in anything from energy, electricity and natural gas, to media, newspapers and advertising.
Brian Cruver, the author of “Anatomy of Greed”, joined this highly charged atmosphere of a company after gaining an MBA, back in 2001. Although he was relatively new at the company when it started to flounder, and was by no means one of its leading lights, this book is a very detailed analysis of the causes of Enron's spectacular decline. The culture and atmosphere of the Enron workplace is very vividly displayed, The genuine knowledge of someone inside the company provides a refreshing change from the all too common journalistic reports from people who were never there, to which we have all become so accustomed.

Every page of this book gives some important insight into the causes of Enron's fall from grace. The questionable accounting, for example. Some of the names in the balance sheet entries are believed to be bogus. The tale is told of one of the biggest tell tale signs that a company is in trouble, the mass sale of shares by the directors. Brian Cruver was a witness to everything that was going on. He received the countless emails from management claiming that rumors were false, and that everything in the garden was rosy.
He witnessed the seemingly endless shredding of important documents, and he was there when the infamous bankruptcy filing occurred. Now, thanks to modern technology, it is possible to enjoy this book as a fully downloadable True Crime Audiobook.
